PowerBuddy makes educators’ lives easier by helping them easily create high-quality assignments and instructional content. Students benefit from an always-available personalized assistant to support them in the way they choose to learn.
Teachers | Accessing PowerBuddy
Access PowerBuddy in the following places:
To launch PowerBuddy, Click the purple PowerBuddy button.
Select the PowerBuddy tools icon from the utility items on the home navigation menu.
Choose the PowerBuddy tool that best describes the content you want to create.
Enter the necessary details or choose from the content criteria. Ensure you enter text or make a selection for all required fields.
Alternatively, select one of the example prompts and modify the information as needed.
Click Generate.
Optionally, you can click Change anytime to return to the tool selection and choose another tool.
From within your Schoology course, select Add Materials , and then select Add Assignment, Add Discussion, or Add Page.
Click the Generate content button in the text editor.
Choose the PowerBuddy tool that best describes the content you want to create.
Enter the necessary details or choose from the content criteria. Ensure you enter text or make a selection for all required fields.
Alternatively, select one of the example prompts and modify the information as needed.
Click Generate.
Optionally, you can click Change anytime to return to the tool selection and choose another tool.
Click Insert.
Alternatively, adjust the text or other detail selections, and then click Regenerate to generate new content.
Once your assignment, discussion, or page has been created, locate the Options area at the bottom of your window.
Review the chat logs for all students you have permission to access. Conversations can take up to 15 minutes to load into the chat log and are available for 60 days.
On the home page, choose Access chat logs.
On the Student chat logs page, find the conversation you want to review and select Review Chats.
Optionally, enter search criteria to narrow your results. Chat logs default to the last seven days.
Select a conversation to review.
Optionally, download an individual conversation using one of the following options:
Select the Download icon (down arrow) for the conversation.
Open the conversation and select Download.
If the conversation has flagged chats, the number of flags is marked in the Flagged chats field for the student. Review the chat and open the conversation for more details. You may also receive email notifications of flagged chats for assignments for which you are the course administrator.
PowerBuddy helps you think deeper, learn faster, and stay focused.
Use Socratic Mode to build critical thinking with guided questions, or switch to Research Mode for instant answers. Stay on track with gentle nudges when you go off-topic, and enjoy full accessibility with voice input and text-to-speech.
If your teacher has allowed PowerBuddy to be used for your learning, you will find PowerBuddy to the bottom right of your page.
PowerBuddy for Learning now offers chat log access not only for students but also for their parents or guardians. When a student works on a Schoology assignment where the teacher has enabled the chat assistant, their conversation history is saved—making it easy to revisit helpful explanations or guidance provided by PowerBuddy.
District Information Assistant is a PowerBuddy AI tool that uses secure, organization-specific documentation you provide to train the AI. You can use the District Information Assistant knowledge base to upload and manage static data from Microsoft Word, text files (TXT format), and PDF documents, or use the embedded web crawler to uncover and organize information using natural language prompts.
Once configured, users can launch PowerBuddy District Information Assistant by clicking on the PowerBuddy icon at the bottom right corner of the page for answers to your how-to questions.
