Report Cards

We are currently new to using PowerSchool (2 months) and I am trying to find out two things:

1. How I can download and view what a report card looks like on the admin end to see if the report card has been successfully completed by staff.

2. Once all teachers finalize their grades, how do parents get access to the report card ? Are parents only told to login to their portal and view the report cards or is something sent out digitally by the school ?

Thank you

1.) Select the student(s) and run the report. It will take you to the Report Queue where you can download/view the result.

2.) This will depend upon your District/Building and your policies/procedures/possible 3rd Party products.

I have attached some screenshots.

It also sounds like you will need to store grades.

What do you mean by store grades ?

If your teachers use Traditional Grading (0-100, A-F, not Standards-based grading), you must use the Store Grades function to move them from PowerTeacher Pro (teacher gradebook) to the StoredGrades table (these are the grades you see on the Historical Grades page for students).

My staff in grades 3-8 use traditional grades and my teachers in K-2 use standards based. Do you know the steps I need to take in order for this to happen ?

Yes, but not for your building specifically. You need to know what terms classes are scheduled into (full-year, semester, etc.), the Reporting Terms/Store Codes you use, the dates of your class enrollments, how you award potential/earned credit, if you store differently by grade-level or Track, etc. Without access to your PowerSchool I cannot really give you specifics.

Do you have an example of what a traditional report card looks like finished and a standard based report card looks like finished ?

They vary by district and building. Attached is a Object Report report card from one of our districts. SBRCs are different in all 70+ of the districts I work with.

What were the steps you took to build that ? Our Students in grades 3-8 use traditional report cards so I feel this would be a great visual for parents to work off of

That is an Object Report. They are, frankly, very, VERY time consuming and tedious to build. You can look at any that are in your system at System Management>Reports>Object Reports. You have to build each and every object on the X Y grid of the page.

I would urge you to look into MBA Report Creator. It will save you hundreds of hours of work, and is worth every penny.

If the marking period term is still open, and teachers are still putting in grades, can I see what a report card looks like for a students ? Where would I go to see that  or print it ?

You would need to design a report card that looks at current (PT Pro) grades not Stored Grades.
