Microsoft no more supporting SDS for PowerSchool

Hi folks,

We just found out that Microsoft is no more supporting the SDS (School Data Sync) for the PowerSchool SIS. What are the options we have? Is there any other better way to replace the Microsoft SDS Plug-in, if yes, then how can this be done? Thanks

Update: Microsoft needs to enable PowerSchool as a provider if its not listed by them. You might need to bring PS and Microsoft in one table.

Did you ever get the API to work?  MS support right now is pointing me back the the CSV method since PowerSchool is not in the drop down box of providers.

Is anyone else being told by PowerSchool support and sales that the OneRoster plugin now requires a paid subscription?

It seems to indicate a need for a licence, but you do not need one. There is another place that clearly talks about the licencing aspect of this but I will need to go back and look where that was. It might have been a Microsoft doc. I will post the link tomorrow when I have a chance to look it up.

HI AlexK1, thank you so much for this. I got the plugin from PowerSchool. 

Which field di you use when define mapping for students? In the SDS classic we used Username for teachers and "student number" for students, but there is no "student number" option in the new SDS and when I use "username" students I am getting a number of sync errors which approximates to the number of students so I believe the issue lies with this mapping. Any advise?

I contcted support and confirmed if there was a newer plugin seeing as the one I had kept giving a license error when it tried to register. There was a newer one but the new one will not install at all it just gives an error. They have referred it to Tier 2 support. I will post when I get more information.

I'm currently getting a Data Flow Run error. Waiting on Microsoft to setup a time to diagnosis.

I have finally been able to get it setup. The last plugin they sent was giving me an error "Plugin file contains an unrecognized file: /CA_SDS_plugin.xml" when trying to install it. I decided to try and extract the file then renamed the file to plugin and tried it again and it installed and registered. I was able to complete the SDS setup. I used the Canada URLs that AlexK1  posted so I assume the US one should work for those of you in the US.
