Enhancement Description
Security Enhancement: Permission Click Form Link Regeneration

As part of our regular security review processes, we've identified an improvement to form links that better protects your data. This change requires regeneration of all form links. You’ll have a two-week transition window to redistribute the new links before the old links stop working on June 5, 2026.

There are two types of form links in Permission Click, which are both impacted by this change:

  • Public form links accessible to any anyone
  • Personalized form links sent to rostered individuals

Public form links will be regenerated for you at the time of the 26.5.0.0 release deployment for all forms with the public form link feature enabled.

Following this release, you will need to take the following action:

  • Redistribute the updated public form links where appropriate (e.g., school/district website)
  • Resend personalized form links to rostered individuals who have not yet submitted a response for the form

Any newly generated public form link and any newly sent personalized form link will use the new form link URL structure.

  • Old form link URL structures use shorter IDs and personalized links use fewer slashes; Ex:
    • …permission.click/PADrP/ca
    • …permission.click/YjEKG/ca/3DqK
    • …respond.permissionclick.com/r/caPpOAnL
  • New form link URL structures use longer IDs and personalized links use an additional slash; Ex:
    • …permission.click/d3d460f1/ca
    • …permission.click/0e97657f/ca/qJ3
    • …respond.permissionclick.com/rt/ca/8573a82a

To give you time to take the required action, we'll support a two-week transition period through Thursday, June 4, 2026, where both old and new form link URLs will function. On Friday, June 5, 2026, old form link URLs will cease to function and, when accessed, will result in a message informing the user that the link has been retired and they must get a new one from the school/district.
