How To: SchoolMessenger Communicate Post Destinations

SchoolMessenger Communicate messages can be distributed across several different channels, including Facebook, X, pages, RSS, and SchoolMessenger Presence. This resource includes information about distributing SchoolMessenger Communicate messages across these channels.

 

Post to Facebook

 

Before you can post to Facebook, you will need to connect SchoolMessenger to a valid Facebook account. Follow these steps to do so:

 

  1. Select Account at the top of any page
  2. Select Account Settings
  3. Under Social Media Options, select Connect to Facebook
  4. Complete the account connection through Facebook

 

Once SchoolMessenger is connected to Facebook, tick the box for Facebook under the Posts tab when drafting a message to post it to Facebook.

 

Note: posting to Facebook is only available to users with the Social Media package in their subscription. Reach out to your Customer Success Manager for further information about adding this package to your subscription.

 

Post to X

 

Before you can post to X, you will need to connect SchoolMessenger to a valid X account. Follow these steps to do so:

 

  1. Select Account at the top of any page
  2. Select Account Settings
  3. Under Social Media Options, select Connect to X
  4. Complete the account connection through X

Once SchoolMessenger is connected to X, tick the box for under the Posts tab when drafting a message to post it to X.

 

Note: posting to X is only available to users with the Social Media package in their subscription. Reach out to your Customer Success Manager for further information about adding this package to your subscription.

 

Post to Pages

 

In addition to social media, messages can also be shared to pages. Pages do not include character limits, and they also allow files to be posted for download. Posting to pages is a good choice for longer messages, or for messages that also include PDFs or other file downloads.

 

Follow these steps to post a message to a page:

 

  1. Draft your message using the Message Editor
  2. In the Message Content grid, tick the box for Page
  3. Input the content to be posted to the page
  4. Select Done

 

Follow these steps to post media and files to a page:

 

  1. Draft your message using the Message Editor
  2. In the Message Content grid, tick the box for Page Media
  3. Attach the file sot be posted to the page
  4. Select Done

 

Post to RSS 

 

SchoolMessenger Communicate messages can also be posted to RSS, which are automatically updating feeds to which users can subscribe. Follow these steps to do so:

 

  1. Draft your message using the Message Editor
  2. Under the Posts tab, select Feed/Desktop/Push
  3. Enter the Title and Message content as necessary
  4. Tick the box(es) for the appropriate RSS to which to publish
  5. Select Save

 

Post to SchoolMessenger Presence

 

SchoolMessenger Communicate messages can also be posted to SchoolMessenger Presence websites. Follow these steps to do so:

 

  1. Draft your message using the Message Editor
  2. Under the Posts tab, select Presence Website Alerts
  3. Input a Start and End date for the message. End date is optional
  4. Input a Title and Type for your post, and select the correct Presence website to post to
  5. Select
