SchoolMessenger CMA: Assigning News Stories

Assigning News Stories

Setting News Stories to Channels

Channels allow you to set content as being specific to particular schools (or other specific areas). Users are able to select the schools or other items they are interested in when using the application. When they view news within the application, they will only see stories that are relevant for those schools.

When you import news from an external source, you have the ability to specify the channels (or schools) that the story appears in. However, at any time, you can manually select what channels should be used for any given news story, whether the story is manually created or imported.

To do so, click the drop-down menu in the Channels column to the right of the story you want to update.

Creating Sections

Sections allow you to organize your news into categories. When users are viewing the news within the application, they can filter the news to view results for specific sections or categories.

To create a section, click the plus icon.

Type a name for your new section and click the check Icon.
