deduction withheld from second check

One of our teachers is also an athletic coach.  His regular check had union dues withheld as expected.  His union dues deduction is set up for 1st check only - however, his second check as a coach had union dues withheld as well.  What did I do wrong?

Most systems view the pay cycle rather than the employee's specific history; because his coaching stipend was likely processed as a separate supplemental run or under a different pay group, the system flagged it as the "first" (and only) check for that specific payroll instance. To fix this for the future, you may need to manually override the deduction for supplemental coaching runs or adjust his profile to ensure the "1st check only" rule applies to his primary position ID only.
