Username needs changing

During sign-up I thought the 'username' slot would purely be log-in information and not my display name as well, and unfortunately there's no way to manually change one's username in the profile settings, so if a moderator could shoot me a private message for help with changing it, that'd be awesome. Thanks!

I used my employee ID as the username, I want to be sure that’s safe!
