I am confused about how to pull student race data and can't get an answer from PS support. I believe we have a regional field for this for New Jersey but there are two fields on my Demographics page (see screenshot). I was told by another admin that Scheduling/Reporting Ethnicity is no longer relevant, which I think is good because we really should not have two different editable places collecting the same information (one does not update the other). I've been updating the Ethnicity and Race radio button/checkbox fields, but when I do this, the data does not save to the database. It is blank on export, even though it is filled in on the screen. It does come up successfully in NJSLEDS reports which makes no sense. I was told by one admin it is not in the student table, so I don't know how to pull it. I need it for exports for the superintendent and for the high school we send up to. Lastly, I was given the some DAT codes by another admin to pull the fields (see attached). Can someone explain to me 1) whether these are the right fields to complete for student race and ethnicity and 2) the proper way to extract them from the database? I understand that in some reports, these fields concatenate into one field for either a single race, multiracial, or hispanic, but there are instances where I need to pull all of the fields separately.
