I am completing a Notice of Case Conference in Indiana and cannot finalize it because I cannot indicate the student is over 18 years old and is her own guardian. There is no information under parent/guardian to pull down to note that the student is her own guardian.
In Indiana, when a student turns 18, they reach the age of majority and their educational rights are transferred to them. This means the student becomes their own guardian for educational purposes, and schools are required to notify them of this "Transfer of Rights." The glitch you're experiencing on the Notice of Case Conference form, which prevents you from noting that the student is their own guardian, is likely a technical issue with the specific form or system you are using. To resolve this, you should contact your school's special education department or the software provider for assistance, as they can provide guidance or a workaround for the form's limitations.
Found the solution. I had to go in the student's profile and add his contact information. Afterward, I was able to pull him down from the drop down menu.
