Modified Grades

We have students on a modified program, meaning, they are not graded on grade-level standards. The students are in the classes that use a traditional grade scale. Is there a symbol or something we can use to indicate modified grades in PowerSchool?

Is this meant to be a reminder to the teacher that they need to modify grades or use a different grade scale or is it meant to be permanently associated with the grade on a report card or transcript?  That will drastically change the response we might provide.   If just a reminder to the teacher you can create an alert that appears on the student header for the teachers.  There are numerous articles available to assist with that.  If it is to indicate the grade was modified, that can be handled in the gradebook by adding a comment/symbol in the comment field of the final grade. There are other methods, but these would be the simplest in my opinion.

Also keep in mind some grade modification documentation may be meant to reside in a confidential file/application as part of an IEP depending on state/federal regulations.  So always review those resource before making any annotation for special populations and make sure it falls under best practices in those areas.
