Adding new teacher in PowerSchool

Hello PowerSchool Community,

I am new to PowerSchool SIS (Alberta, Canada) and require guidance on correcting a section lead assignment.

Scenario:

• Grade: Grade 8

• Initial Assignment: A Teacher Assistant (TA) was assigned as the "Teacher - Section Lead" from August 28, 2025.

• Actual Teacher Start: The actual new teacher joined on September 29, 2025.

• Issue: Due to system access delays for the new teacher, the TA continued to take attendance as the Section Lead until October 23, 2025.

My Question:

To correct the Teacher Schedules, I need to remove the TA as Section Lead and assign the new teacher starting September 29, 2025.

1. If I set the TA's end date to September 28, 2025, and set the new teacher's start date as Section Lead to September 29, 2025, will this negatively affect the attendance records entered by the TA between September 29 and October 23, 2025?

2. Alternatively, should I change the TA's role to a Co-teacher/Teacher's Assistant with a 100% allocation for every subjects in Grade 8?

Adjusting staff on a section will have no affect on attendance/grades.

I cannot speak to your reporting requirements, but in New York I would have two Lead Teachers:

Your TA: Lead Teacher from 8/28/2025-9/28/2025

Yor actual Lead Teacher: Lead teacher from 9/29/2025-EOY (this would be 6/30/2026 in NY)
