Platform Overview Summary

 

The Compose button will always be on the top right of your dashboard, regardless of where you are on the K-12 Social Platform.

 

This is part 8 of the SchoolMessenger K-12 Walk-Through Guide.

 

Composing Messages

Click (1) Compose to begin creating and scheduling a single message that will be posted to one or more of your configured social media Services.


Click the Compose in Bulk portion to the right of the button to create and schedule multiple messages.

 

Compose

 

Once the Compose button is clicked, a pop-up will appear where you will begin to create your message and configure it to be posted on one or more social media sites at once.
(2) Select a Service to which you would like to post. You may choose as many as you like.
Once you’ve selected all the services, begin composing in the (3) message box. The (4) character count for that particular social network will appear (if relevant) as well as the option to (4) attach emojis

 

Attach – Adding images, links, files, etc. to your post.


Compose your message. Any URL will be automatically shortened and a preview will be shown below. If you’d like to add additional content to your post, you can do so by clicking (5) Attach.


Use (6) Upload a File to attach, (7) From URL to link an image, choose content from your accounts (8) Media Library, choose content from the (9) Cloud (Dropbox and Google Drive). (10) Design uses
Canva to help you create a wide range of design assets such as Facebook covers and Pinterest posts.
(11) Search for an image via your Google or Flickr account. Attach a (12) YouTube video.

Schedule Posts

 

Schedule Posts
(1) Clicking the calendar icon will allow you to schedule your post by (2) date,(3) time, (4) set optimal time (K-12 Social uses an algorithm to know when is the most optimum time to post to your networks), or (5) schedule repeating messages.

(6) Create and/or add your message to a queue.

(7) Shorten links for tracking purposes and reduce character count or use (8) Sniply to share links.

(9) Add Additional Content such as RSS Feeds, trending hashtags, and placeholders. 

(10) Compose and schedule messages in Bulk.

 

Queues
(6) Create intelligent queues where you can add multiple posts to be delivered at set times. Setup your queues to recycle posts or just cycle through once. Select users who can act as contributors to be able to add posts to this queue.

 

Additional Content
(9) Enrich your posts with additional content via (11) RSS feeds. Simply (12) add the Feed Name and
Feed URL and Create Feed. (13) Add content such as HTML code.

View what's currently (14) Trending. Place a check next to list items and Insert Selected Tags into your post. Insert (15) Placeholders to personalize your posts. Choose from different types and check those that apply.

 Send Posts
When you have finished configuring your New Message, click either the (16) Send For Approval button (for users who want or require approval of an account administrator) or (17) Schedule when you are ready for your message(s) to go live.
