This is part 5 of a Series of the SchoolMessenger K-12 Walk Through Guide

 

Suggestions

 

When (1) Suggestions is selected, K-12 Social will search for social media content that shares relevance with content that has previously been shared, posted or searched by association with the “Streams” that you have created. The more you use a stream, the more relevant and populated these suggestions will be.


When (2) Explore Topics is selected, the Recommendations For section allows you to use the dropdown menu to select any of your account streams, and will then display a list of social media topics from around the web, which you may find relevant to read and/or share. Click on any of them to view the content associated with that topic. Click the “+” icon next to a content topic to add it to your “My Topics” on the right. Staff Picks are categorized lists of content that K-12 Social staff/partners have frequently suggested – these work the same as the above “Recommendations For” items.
Any topic that you’ve added to

(3) My Topics or have discovered using

(4) Search can be selected to view that content. You may (5) Check All/None, (6) Refresh Content from the menu above the content or (7) place a check in front of any (8) Articles or Influencers to include them to be grouped together when (9) Curate Content is clicked. (9) Curate Content can be used to edit and add content to the “My Content” page of the Content section, which leaves it ready for use in future posts.

Feeds


(10) Feeds are used for keeping a running watch of certain RSS and news sites and a (11) New Auto Post of their content to any of your accounts' social media sites. You can create a (12) New Feed by simply providing a name and a URL. Individual articles from your list of feeds can be (13) Viewed or Shared by clicking the corresponding icon.
Choose which feed to view, edit the name of or delete from the (14) Feeds menu on the right.

My Content
(1) My Content section allows you to create your own content to save for later use when you are composing a new message/post. You must first create a (2) New Library in which to store the content, then you may select the appropriate library from (3) My Libraries and (4) Add Content using either the “Social Media” or “Blog” style content templates. Additionally, once a library is selected on the right, you may use the (5) User Filter to see just the content owned by a particular User or (6) Search for words in all content in that library. To the right of any content item, you will find the tools to (7) Delete, View, Edit, or Share your content.
