This is the second part of a Series of the SchoolMessenger K-12 Walk Through Guide

Engage– Interacting on Your Social Platforms
The (1) Engage section is the “home page” and can be accessed from the Engage tab found at the top of every page in K-12 Social.
You will be taken to your Priority Inbox, which collates all your social media activity into one convenient stream.
You may alternately (2) choose which real-time stream to view by selecting it from the right sidebar, (3) filter by channel, or use a (4) manual search.
Interact with contacts directly from the Engage section (notice which social network the activity is on by the corresponding logo). (5) Use the available actions such as Like, Retweet, Show Conversation, Repost, Reply, Translate, Archive, Assign, and Reply enable you to engage on your social media profiles directly from the dashboard.

Inbox
When Inbox is selected, the default view on the Engage screen is of items in the Priority Inbox (as selected on
the right-hand “Streams” list) in the center of the screen. The Priority Inbox collates a descending chronological
list of all your social media from the 5 main streams (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ and Instagram).
A number to the right of the word “Inbox” will show how many new, unread posts you have.
You may click on any of the (2) Streams in the right-hand list to view all the posts associated directly with it.

 

Outbox
1. Sent: Posts which you have previously sent.
2. Scheduled: A list of your scheduled posts. Click here if you need to cancel or reschedule the time/date for a previously scheduled post. The number to the right indicates how many are currently still scheduled, followed in parentheses by how many total have already gone live.
3. Queued: A list of your queued posts.
4. Drafts: Your unfinished “draft” posts. You may select any from the list and continue composing.
5. Calendar: An interactive calendar of your past and scheduled posts, these can be dragged and dropped and rearranged to best fit your social media strategy. This can be filtered by Scheduled, Queued, Sent, Team Member or Social Channel.
6. Bounced: This is a list of posts that have bounced (rejected or failed to be delivered). Common reasons would be that the connection was lost between the platform and the social media site, or the social media site was down at the time the post was delivered.

Tasks
This area references messages that have been sent for approval or tasks that have been assigned

Profile Information
Click on any social profile’s name or username to see an overview of information for that person.
(1) Bio
(2) Timeline: Overview of the contact’s activity timeline.
(3) Mentions: Shows their recent mentions.
(4) Favorites: The items they have favorited.
(5) History: Your conversation history with that contact.
(6) Klout Score: Measure of influence.
(7) Advanced: Integration with Peer Index to show
their

(8) Extended Bio,

(9) Social Profiles,

(10) Topics, Influences, Influenced By, Location, and more.
(11) Save Contact: Opens the options to add a person’s General information, Contact Info, Social Information, and Notes. Click “Create Contact” to save as a contact in K-12 Social. Contacts are saved in the “My Contacts” section of K-12 Social (see page 11).
(12) Follow: Sets you to follow that person on the selected social network.
(13) Reply: Reply to them on that social network.
(14) DM: Direct message the contact.
(15) Full Profile: See the full profile of the contact; you will be taken to their social profile.
