Choosing Phone as an Option

Once in the Message Content portion of the MessageSender (the red New Broadcast button on the Dashboard), clicking on the Phone button will open the Phone messaging option. Note if this button does not exist for you, your local administrators have not enabled Phone as an option for your profile. Check with local administrators to see about obtaining this option.

Phone Messaging Options

Call Me to Record versus Text to Speech:

You have two options to record your telephone message. While both options work extremely well, we recommend Call Me to Record over Text to Speech, because Text to Speech is a computerized voice.

The Recording Number:

This is where the system will call you to allow you to record the message in your own voice. Although it will default to the number that is in your user account information, you may enter any number here by overwriting the existing number.

Extensions are allowed in this function, as long as the extension is the top level (e.g. "If you know your party's extension you may dial it at any time") and not treed (e.g. "Press 9 to enter an extension").

The Scratch Pad:

This is an optional section, but it is strongly recommended you type out your message here before you start to record. The text here will not be broadcast, but it allows you to be certain you have all your facts and details in order before you start the recording, reducing the need to send a follow-up broadcast later with the details you skipped the first time.

Call Now to Record:

Once you have entered the number you wish the system to call, and you have your content written out on the scratch pad, click this button. The system will call you, and you can simply follow the voice prompts to record your message.

Note: You are under no pressure to get it right in one take. You will have the option to re-record your message if you make a mistake while recording, so relax and speak at a controlled pace.

Saving your Phone Message

Clicking Save in the lower right after pressing "1" on the phone recording will save your message content and allow you to continue.

Save:

Once you have completed your message and pressed "1" on your recording, the Call Me to Record system will disconnect. Click Save to save your telephone message and continue with your broadcast.
