SchoolMessenger Home App v2.1.0 Release Notes

Summary

SchoolMessenger Home v2.1.0 is now available in the Google Play and Apple App stores.

 

Audience

This is for all users of the SchoolMessenger Home App.

 

Details

  • The Home App is now built to run on Apple iOS 17 (minimum installed version is iOS 16) and on Android OS 14 (minimum installed version is OS 11)
  • Accessibility improvements to the app (accessible tags, color contrast, touch targets etc.)
  • We now display the password requirements on the sign up screen prior to the user creating a password.
  • When creating an absence, the app will auto-advance to the next field that requires attention in SafeArrival**
  • We have implemented an additional way to claim missing students from the Contacts screen.
  • We have fixed a bug that required a user to change tabs in the app before they would see a joined group in Chat**

**SafeArrival and Chat are optional paid additions and may not be available to all users.

 

Process

When launching the Home app for the first time after the update, users will see a modal that informs them of the update and gives them the option to update the app from the app store or cancel and continue using the existing version.
