What is PowerSchool’s Data Continuity Service (DCS)?

Answer

PowerSchool’s Data Continuity Service (DCS) offers nightly backups of all of your PowerSchool data to a secure off-site location, where your data will be stored securely for 30 days. DCS also offers two data restoration per year in the event you suffer irretrievable data loss.

What type of encryption is used during the transmission of our data from our location to the secure off-site location?

Answer

The file is encrypted locally on the server using industry standard AES 256-bit encryption.  Data sent to or received from the cloud is encrypted using the HTTPS TLS 1.2 protocol to ensure data security in transit.

How secure is the off-site location where our data will be stored?

Answer

PowerSchool utilizes secure data storage for our customers. After transmission, your data is password-protected by PowerSchool and stored, using AES 256-bit encryption and housed in, temperature-controlled, fireproof, seismic-resistant facilities, where personnel access is strictly limited.
