Trying to submit registration but I can't finish because the site will not accept the date for my child's age. He is already 5 years old, but the calendar is not recognizing 2015 as a year that makes the child 5 years old already. I just keep getting an error that says the child must be 5 by September 1.
Hi @jbcaho,
Thank you for reaching out for assistance in the Community.
This error usually occurs when you will be trying to register your child for the school year when as per the school requirements he is not 5 years yet. Please verify that you are filling the registration form for the correct school year i.e. for the school year when your child meets the 5 years age eligibility requirement.
If you are still unable to complete the registration and you are sure that you are filling the registration form or the correct school year then I recommend reaching out to the school district’s registration department for further assistance.
Please let me know if this helps.

Hi jbcaho,
It looks like the age calculator is not accounting for exact birthdays correctly. Simply checking the year can cause problems like this. The system should check year, month, and day so it only accepts a child as 5 years old if their birthday has already passed by September 1.
For example, a child born in 2015 might not yet be 5 by September 1, depending on the exact birthdate. The calculator needs to consider the full date, not just the year.

Hi jbcaho! 👋
You might be running into an issue with how the registration form calculates your child’s age. Sometimes, these forms misread dates, especially around cutoff periods. To double-check, you can use a calculate age tool. You just enter your child’s date of birth, and it will instantly show the exact age in years, months, and days. This way, you’ll know for sure whether the date and age are being calculated correctly.
Hope this helps you! 😊
The replies on this thread are ridiculous. The tool clearly had an error, and the question was posted 10 years ago but people are still putting replies here that clearly don't even read the question. I know my child's age, I entered the full date of birth, and the tool gave an error saying that he was not as old as he actually was. I wish there was a way to delete this now.
Sorry, 4 years ago.
