From an enrollment lens, our school year is July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026. However, students attend/courses are held from August 25, 2025 - June 12, 2026. The naming code for the 2025-2026 school year will be F26. Will setting my F26 dates in Years and Terms as July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026 while setting my F26 dates in Final Grade and Reporting Term as August 25, 2025 - June 12, 2026 cause issues?
Another alternative is to set my F26 dates as July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026 in both Years and Terms and Final Grade and Reporting Term while setting Semester 1's and Quarter 1's start dates as August 25, 2025 and Semester 2's and Quarter 4's end dates as June 12, 2026. Would this alternative work, or would I have to use additional terms (e.g. as is used with exam periods) during the July 1, 2025 - August 24, 2025 gap and June 13, 2026 - June 30, 2026 gap?
Do date ranges in Years and Terms
Years & Terms are for scheduling purposes, Final Grade/Reporting Terms are for grading purposes. I have attached a very common Final Grade/Reporting setup for a full-year class. The L6/R6 are Local/Regents Exam reporting terms, while Q1-4 are quarters and Y1 is the final course grade.
