Hello! My school district is trying to come up with a way to record is students have been retained if so what year and what grade.
Has anyone's school district come up with a system for this? If so would you recommend just making a new student user custom field?
The information already exists on the re-enrollments table.
When you look at a student's transfer info screen the years and grade levels of all enrollments are there so is the entry comment of retained.
You would need a report to pull that data out so that it can be easily referenced.
Could you provide directions on how to pull that data? I also need a retention list from 21-22. Thanks
Would love to know if PowerSchool is able to pull this data. Also how is this performed in the Enhanced User Interface?

The information lives on the re-enrollments table. You will need to do an extract from that table with the exitcomments. All students are on the table and their exitcomments will include promoted next school etc so you don't need those. If your rollover end of year process is setup correctly then the exit comment will say retained.
