All,
I am using section types for my math courses to cluster different grade levels that are taking the same math level. Some of the classes will be co-taught, which I am using Course Team constraints to pair those courses together. However I am getting an Error in my Build becuase of this combo and I'm not sure how to resolve it because I need to keep Section Types for the courses because up to 3 different grade levels are taking the same math. Here is the error I get:
DataError Courses with section type blocked or teamed with other courses are not supported yet. The course with section type is ...
Anyone use this combo and can help with how to resolve it?
Thank you
I have had this same error and have had to add the section types manually to the sections after I get a "good build" that I plan on sticking with.
That's what I was worried about. Did you happen to try unlinking the co-taught section? I'm worried removing the section type will not optimize where the sections are based on when the grade levels have their core time.
No I did not remove the course team constraint.
I know the build considers student requests when building the master. However, I don't know if it takes into account section types. I have never heard that it does but I don't know all of the PowerScheduler secrets 😉
You could try removing section types from teamed courses.
If co-taught courses are the priority:
Then handle mixed grades by allowing multiple grades into the same course via course enrollment rules (not section type)
You lose automated grade grouping via Section Types for those sections.
