Our school uses PowerSchool for report cards. The report cards are only available online now, but the issue is the guardian portal is "closed for the summer". Since my son completed his behind the wheel and has his license, we need to send a copy of the report card to the insurance company for favorable rates. How are we supposed to do this if our access to his grades are revoked? I'm not understanding why this is a thing. Is there a good reason to only allow parents to see their child's report card for one week (the week of the 6th when it was finalized) before it's revoked for the summer? This scenario is a good reason why you should not restrict access. I need access to my sons grades. Please assist.

Thanks for the reply. Though the District has a responsibility to provide me with my students grades regardless of why I need them, what I took from your response, minus the misdirecting comment about insurance rates, is that this is a District decision and not a PowerSchool decision. That's all you needed to say.
@astynax777 There are about a bajillion reasons districts close their portals for the Summer; the District has no responsibility to assist with students' insurance rates.
This site is not affiliated with any particular District, so you will need to contact yours directly. It shouldn't be a problem for them to provide you with the RC.

You yourself brought up the Insurance. Maybe don't bother mentioning it if you don't want people to respond about it.
