What is Attendance Intervention Annual Rollover?

Attendance Intervention Annual Rollover is the required yearly process that gets your Attendance Intervention application ready for the new school year. During rollover, interventions, schedules, templates, attendance settings, syncs, and other key elements are updated so everything aligns with the upcoming academic year.

This reset helps ensure interventions run accurately, communications reflect current information, and your tool is positioned to take advantage of the latest product enhancements.

Why is Annual Rollover so important?

Annual Rollover helps protect the work you have already done while setting you up for continued success. Completing rollover each year:

  • Helps ensure interventions send on time and as expected
  • Reduces the risk of data or sync issues after SIS updates
  • Keeps templates, dates, logos, and messaging current
  • Supports accuracy as students, staff, and enrollments change

Even if you plan to keep your existing intervention templates exactly the same, rollover is still required for interventions to go out in the new school year.

Can districts complete Rollover on their own?

At this time, Attendance Intervention Annual Rollover is not a self‑service process. This is intentional. Rollover touches critical settings and data and completing it with PowerSchool Support helps ensure everything is reviewed, aligned, and ready for the year ahead.

Think of this as a partnership. Our Support team works alongside you to help make rollover as smooth and stress‑free as possible.

What are the options for completing Rollover?

Districts have flexibility in how they approach Annual Rollover:

  • Support‑led Rollover at no cost, coordinated through the Annual Rollover form and a support case, or
  • Day 2 Post‑implementation Services, which offer additional guided support from certified experts, including configuration review, optimization, and preparation for relaunch.

Day 2 Services from PowerSchool are a great option for districts that want extra reassurance, are managing staff turnover, or are looking to optimize their Attendance Intervention use heading into the fall.

What can districts be doing right now?

While Support completes the technical rollover process, there are several meaningful ways districts can prepare now:

  • Review engagement and usage by running reports like the Comprehensive School Summary Report to see messaging trends and family engagement over time
  • Celebrate student success using the Students with 100% Attendance report
  • Plan family communications to reintroduce Attendance Intervention in the fall
  • Schedule training or refreshers for staff, especially new hires or teams impacted by turnover

These steps help ensure your team starts the new year confident, informed, and aligned.
