We are wanting to pilot a system where we scan students ID cards as they enter the classroom for attendance. Is there an option in eSchool where it can take attendance that way?
I've had some inquiries too. I don't think so, as that would boil down to positive attendance, while eSP is negative attendance (marking students absent instead of present).
I guess you could always scan the barcodes to an external list (Excel, etc), and then compare the list to TAC roster, but that's an error prone extra step.
Sounds like you're looking for a quick and easy way to take attendance in the classroom. Have you considered using a barcode scanner with Smart Engines OCR SDK? It can help you scan each student's ID card as they walk into the room and extract their information automatically. This can save you time compared to manual entry and minimize errors, making your attendance-taking process a breeze. It's also a great way to keep things organized and efficient. Give it a try. You might just find it's the perfect solution for your needs! Good luck!
