Summer School - Graduates

Good Morning,

If a student is missing a course to graduate and is fulfilling that last course through summer school, is it the summer school that will be using the same method of overriding the Literacy Test and Community Involvment hours to make that student a graduate?

Thanks,

Melinda

The feature to override the community hours and literacy test is available for any school type. However, if the student completes their diploma requirements during the summer, the organization granting the diploma should be set to the student's OSR school.  Summer schools do not grant diplomas.  When the October 2020 OnSIS submission is generated, this student will be reported as having earned their diploma at the OSR school.

Good Morning,

My question should have been, if a student is completing the last class to graduate in summer school, but is missing OSSLT or Community Involvement hours or both, should the home school be flagging these things in June for the student or when the Summer School course has been completed?

Hello Melinda,

Althought we do not prevent the summer school from overwriting the OSSLT and Community Service Hours data, summer schools cannot grant diplomas. The home school must be the BSID granting the OSSD. The granted award would be submitted to OnSIS with the home school October submission.
