Video: Block and Unblock Phones and Emails

Blocked Lists

  1. System Tab:
    Select the System Tab to find Blocked Lists.

  2. Blocked Lists:
    Select Blocked Lists to manage 2 Blocked Destination Types
    1. Phone Calls/Text Messages
    2. Email Addresses
  3. Phone Calls/Text Messages:

    Phone numbers can be blocked from receiving phone calls, SMS/Text messages, or both.

     

    In the image above Block Type has 3 options:

    Block Calls and Text Messages

    Block Text Messages Only

    Block Calls Only

     

    The process to Block:

     

    1. Select the option for Block Type

    2. Enter a 10-digit phone number into the Phone field

    3. Enter reason into the Reason field (Example: No student at the school)

    4. Select the Add button

     

    The Process to Unblock:

     

    1. Enter a 10-digit phone number in the Search field

    2. To the right select/click Delete

    3. Confirm

     

    NOTE: If you do not have the Delete option then contact a System Admin over SchoolMessenger Communicate as they can activate Delete or take action for you.

  4. Email Addresses:
    email addresses.jpg

    Email addresses can be blocked for multiple reasons:

     

    Unsubscribe by parent/guardian using the link in the email footer.

    Failed delivery due to email box full, etc.

     

    NOTE:  If SchoolMessenger blocks an email address it will continue to deliver email to the email address in future broadcasts. If it is successful then the email address will be removed from the blocked list. You will NOT need to manage email addresses in SchoolMessenger blocks.

     

    The process to Block:

     

    1. Enter the email address in the Email field

    2. Enter reason in Reason (Example: Parent/guardian requests not to be emailed)

    3. Select the Add button

     

    The Process to Unblock:

     

    1. Enter email address in Search

    2. To the right select/click Delete

    3. Confirm

     

    NOTE: If you do not have the Delete option then contact a System Admin over SchoolMessenger Communicate as they can activate Delete or take action for you.
