Standards Based Grade Scale (0-4) with letter grades on report cards

Hi All,

I'm putting together standards based grade scales for my schools, but they want to be able to use the % scores from the grade scales to show letter grades in addition to the standards' score on the report cards (e.g. a student gets a 3, 4, 3 on their three standards in Math, which is equal to 3.5 score, or a 93% or an A).

Has anyone done this or have tips on how we might do it?

Hi @SimplicityEd,

Thank you for posting your question in the Community.

You might want to setup an alphanumeric grade scale. Here, every letter has a grade value. Those values are averaged together then the cut-off is used to determine the final grade.

For example: A = 100, B= 80. Student has A, A, B (value = 100, 100, 80). Average = 92.5%. The cut-off for A is 90, so the final grade is A. There are two scenarios where a numeric scale uses a value and cut-off.

You might want to go into your PowerSchool SIS and click on the Help button to access the System Help document and search for the ''Standards'' and Grade Scales'' for the documents having brief instructions.
