Does PowerSchool have/provide/expose to administrators the application key settings to pre-configure the iOS app via MDM settings?
Those configuration strings would be super helpful to streamline the install and configuration process for students, as I imagine most of us push the app out via their MDM to their managed devices if your school is a 1:1 school, for example.
Usually, this information is expressed in an XML file, or simply the key/data pairs to enter into a profile in Apple Configurator, JAMF, Meraki, etc. to pre-configure a managed app, such as:
<key>schoolDistrict</key>
<string>whittier</string>
etc.
If this is available, we'd love to have it.
Thank you
Kevin
Kevin,
Did you ever get a reply on this? We'd also like to implement this.
Hi @kwilliamsWT and @MatthewG!
Thank you for reaching out to PowerSchool Community!
Aside from installing the application which MDM solutions can do, you should be able to set the district code. It’s just the student typing in the 4 digit district code and that is for setup. Apart from that, currently PowerSchool isn't providing administrators with access to the application key settings to pre-configure the iOS app via MDM settings.
Hi @Reshma, is this a feature request that we can push forward? This would be huge for us, and clearly many other schools are also looking for the ability to accomplish this. We have a nearly touchless iPad deployment with Single Sign-On, other than the PS app due to the lack of ability in utilizing iOS MDM app config.
Thanks,
Matt
