Clean up status

Hi.  I'm a parent, and since Covid-19 has hit us, we're using PowerSchool much more heavily to monitor remote learning.  Prior to this, our school did use PowerSchool, but we really only looked at it to monitor grades for our kids.  Now, we're looking much more closely at assignments - and in particular, missing assignments.

 

The problem I'm trying to address is that my 'Status' tile in the mobile app contains missing assignments from previous school terms.  These are no longer relevant, and are a distraction from any other assignments that might be missing.  This is really my best way to keep track of my 5th grader's progress, since I'm working full time and it's tough to navigate all the different remote learning tools the school is using.  PowerSchool is the closest we have to a "final word" on any assignments, regardless of what other system was used (Google Classroom, Mathletics, Newsela, etc.)

 

I've tried asking the teachers if they can clear old assignments from last year (e.g beginning of school...Sept, Oct, etc.).  They are not aware of any way to clear out an assignment that was never turned in, but for which the school term is over and the grades are already final.  Can anyone here advise on whether there's a way either from my end to filter these old missing assignments, or from the administrator view how they can clear them from my account so they no longer appear?  Thanks!

It is dependent on how the district admin has term visibility set up and when the assignment was due.

 

To help further, we will have to take a closer look at the district's setup and your Parent Portal account. I recommend reaching out to the school district and sharing your concern with them, the district can create a case with PowerSchool Support and the support team should be able to work with your school district to provide a solution.

One thing you can do is on the Class Overview line (PowerSchool App Dashboard) change the drop down to the current term.

 

The PowerSchool Admin at school must select the current term to visible as well.

My dashboard was already set to view the current term, and I do see the individual classroom items change when I select T1 or T2 (we're currently in T3).  But the item I'm trying to clean up is in the Assignments section, and the Status tile within that section.  It does not seem to be affected by which term I select in the Class Overview section.  Would the Status be affected if the Admin changed the visible term?
