New to LTI 1.3?

When you review our developer documentation for creating an app with Schoology Learning, PowerSchool assumes you already have a basic understanding of LTI 1.3.

If you are unfamiliar with the LTI 1.3 specification and the extensions known as LTI Advantage, please start by learning more about this interoperability standard and specification. If you are looking to provide your EdTech content or tool to multiple school districts, we encourage you to become members of 1EdTech and get certified as an LTI 1.3 tool.

If you are trying to figure it out on your own, here are some open resources to get you started.

• LTI Advantage High Level Overview blog on EdLink
• Learning Tools Interoperability page on the 1EdTech website has an overview, but some of the links from this page may be restricted to members only.
• Video: LTI Advantage (in 5 mins)
• LTI 1.3 has improved security requiring an understanding of Oauth. If Oauth is new for you, this Okta blog has a great overview.
  • LTI with Oauth does support multi-tenant tools. Learn more on the 1EdTech site.
