We've used guardianemail & studentemail but there is a field with a tag of just email. Where is that field located?
Hi @TinaW4
Thank you for reaching out for assistance through PowerSchool Community!
To assist further, would you please let us know the name of the PowerSchool product which you are enquiring about? and it would be great if you could elaborate on the question.
I am referring to the PowerSchool SIS 20.4.3. Where in the admin portal would I find the field "email".
guardianemail is on the demographics page
studentemail is on the Student Email tab of a student's page
Hi @TinaW4,
Thank you for confirming the product with us.
To assist you further, we would need to look into your setup to understand and provide you clarity in response. We recommend reaching out to the Designated Support Contacts within your school district who should be able to connect with the PowerSchool SIS Support team to assist you in finding this field.
Unless you have a custom Student Email field, the student email address does not reside in the student table. You have it access it via Data Export Manager. Some of us create a customized field and populate both the custom field and the student email table.
Thanks for the reply - we also have a custom field that we use to sync with Google and Clever. I was asking about a field that exists in the field list but I have no idea where it resides in the GUI.
Actually I think that is a custom field and not one of PowerSchool's stock student fields. Because this is a general unsecure forum, I can't specify how to find this custom field. If you are the PowerSchool Admin, you should be able to locate it. (That's also why you can't find it in the "GUI" because it's not there.)
It's not a database extension we've created. It's one in the field list since we upgraded to 20.4.3.
If your school is a long time PowerSchool user, regular old fashion custom fields existed for 10 years before database extensions.
Yeah, I've been managing PS since we started with them 13 years ago. It's not a field we created.
