Vendor number vs. vendor name entries

Hi there,

I'm new to PowerSchool and eFinance after using Oracle. And I don't know if I'm using the forum correctly. At the outset of this message, I will admit that Oracle is by no means easy to use and is going through constant updates to keep up with user demands. However, that system and Quickbooks both allow users to search for vendors by vendor name - and vendor numbers are inconsequential. I cannot believe that we must enter vendor numbers instead of vendor names to add an invoice to our records.

I'm sure that's not an easy fix, but I am actually flabbergasted that PowerSchool would have us memorizing totally irrelevant information about vendors to make quick work of invoice entry.

It makes me think of going to a pizza joint and having to know that mushrooms are 145, onions are 154, and extra cheese is 104. It's absurd.

Are support people viewing these messages? Would they see a request to fix this issue here?

Why not just copy Oracle so that as you enter the vendor it supplies names? As you continue to type, the menu narrows down to the one you want - or you can just select the name from the list with the cursor.

Perhaps this has been discussed ad nauseam and I missed it all. But just wanted to find out if they're working on this issue, or if there has been a hard 'no', or nobody else really cares.

Support does have staff that monitor the forums but not to directly work on enhancements/fixes from what I have seen. They normally just provide some guidance.

There is an Ideas Portal where these types of enhancements usually get delegated over to. Than in time it may make its way into a future release. 

There is actually one out there on Idea Portal now. Entered in on Jan 13 2021.
