SmartFind Express - Do not call on holiday

Is there a place we can specify to not call substitutes on certain days?  We had calls go out on Christmas Eve (Friday) and schools were closed for a week after that.  We would like to be able to tell the system not to call on days like this.

To prevent the system from calling substitutes for assignments on holidays you would need to add the holiday dates to your calendar. This can be found in the System Admin manual under the HELP menu in SFE.

That's the issue, we did have Dec 24 as a holiday.  According to the manual, the system will still call on a holiday, but only use the evening times.  We would like to be able to stop calls on certain holidays altogether.

From page 284 on the system admin guide:

Holidays also have a callout time. Times for holidays are for evenings only. Because jobs cannot be reported for
holidays, morning callout is not needed. A time can be placed in the “Today Start” field, but it will not be used.
The system looks at the calendar associated with the job to determine whether callout should occur. Only days
that are designated as holidays on the calendar use holiday callout times.

Thanks for the information!

Yes, if you have an entry in the Holiday time field as shown below, the subs will be called for future jobs. You can remove the callout times if you don't want future jobs to call out. We recommend you reach out to your District Operator and have them work on this with PowerSchool Support.

This is a better option. 

It would be even better if we were able to specify Holiday with a callout or Holiday no callout.

Currently, the Holiday callout times cannot to added for specific holidays. 

You can share this as an Enhancement Request on  PowerSchool Ideas Portal so that the product team can take a look at this. This article should walk you through how to raise an Enhancement Request.
