Slip year long classes

Slip year long classes

We are working in power scheduler. We have some classes that are year-long but occasionally we need to move a student to a different period for the class the next semester. The grades don't merge and the teacher has to move them. I noticed un powerscheduler, under functions, is as option to "slip Year long" classes. Would doing this allow us to more easily love a student to a different period and the grades merge?

Thank you!

No. Once you commit the schedule, nothing in PowerScheduler matters. The grades are attached to the section, not the student. Teachers can move them easily with the Transfer Scores feature. (Also, I think you mean Split, not slip).

Thank you for responding!

I actually mean next years schedule, in power scheduler. We have only copied the master from this year and are setting up new courses ect. for the 26-27 school year.  We have not committed to next year's schedule yet. That will be a while.

Sure thing. None of the districts I work with use that function, but all it will do it split the year-long classes in PowerScheduler into the terms you tell it to before you Commit. You would have all the exact same issues.

We split our year long classes before we commit our schedule. We are on semesters and we store at the end of each semester and use 100%. Our year long classes are 1 credit and our semesters are 0.5 credits. This way it is easy to move students schedules and don't have to worry about grades being merged for year long classes. This works great for our semester only classes.
