Setting up grade books at district level

Hello everyone,

Our district administrator has told us that gradebooks can only be set up by importing a schedule?

is this true?

We did not purchase power scheduler and use a different application for scheduling.

I am struggling to understand why a schedule would be needed to set up a grade book.

Thanks in advance for any of your responses.

When you are saying "Gradebook" are you referring to PowerTeacher Pro? If so, each section of a schedule determines the Gradebook type. Until the next major PS release, people still have the ability to use the old Gradebook. Therefore, each section is required to state Gradebook type of PowerTeacher Pro. In addition, the grade scales are linked to each section.

Can you elaborate further on exactly what set up you are talking about?

Thank you for your response.

We want to set up a grade book for each homeroom that has English, science and social studies as 'courses', within power teacher pro.

We are using prime table to create timetables.

So to get  the set up we want, we need to create a schedule for each homeroom correct?

Thanks

Tom

I'm not exactly sure what "prime table to create timetables" means??? For my elementary schools, we create a sections for each course for each teacher. Then we link the core "subject" courses as dependent courses to homeroom. This allows us to enroll the student into homeroom and then they automatically enrolled in all the other classes.

Is this what you are looking for? In PTPro, teachers will see each class separately but the same students.
