Scheduling a related course

Our middle school students are scheduled for PE 3 quarters of the year and Health for 1 quarter. Is there a way to set up scheduling to randomly assign health for one of the four quarters?

Currrently, our secretary will pull a group of kids out of PE classes and enroll them into health classes. Since I am newer to this position, I would like to find an easier more automated way for this to take place.

Thank you in advance!

Re: Scheduling a related course

Hi @VickyM,

Thank you for confirming that you're working in PowerSchool SIS. In your instance, I would recommend using PowerScheduler to schedule your students. While the scheduling isn't entirely random, it will automatically slot students into the three PE sections and one Health section based upon what fits best relative to their other enrollments.

Based upon what you need, you'll want to set up each student with three requests for PE and one request for Health, and then either manually schedule the sections or have PowerScheduler build them for you. Then once your schedule is built, you will load the students into the sections through PowerScheduler, and it should put the students into their sections based upon the best fit.

If you choose to use PowerScheduler and have PowerScheduler build your schedule from scratch, the following PowerSchool Community article should be quite helpful for getting everything set up:

Otherwise, if you opt to build the schedule yourself, or you have an existing schedule that you'd like to leverage, the following PowerSchool Community Article will be the one that you want to refer to:

Hi @VickyM

Thank you for posting your question in the PowerSchool Community. Just to make sure I get you the best answer possible, with regard to scheduling are you referring to PowerSchool SIS or is are you asking about scheduling in one of our other SIS products?
