If you are using the Pearson app in Powerschool/ or using Pearson/Savvas assigned grades your hurting your students! Pearson/Savvas grades solely on attendance, NOT Performance based knowledge. Students only need to put in a response such as "IDK" to receive 100% while students who skip a question receive no point and a lesser grade. Dispite putting in the effort to correctly answer questions.
Worse if your using Google classroom for assigning Pearson/Savvas assignments, Parents see these attendance based grades, and assume their student is performing great. Not knowing its for admitting IDK or other remarks just to show they were there..
So if you are using these platforms, Be sure to manually review each assignment and manually grade them to the standards. Pearson may have pitched that their software programs automatically grades student work, making teachers lives easer, but these are NOT grades! just evidence that shows students were on those pages.
So if your using the app to/or inputting these grades, STOP! and grade the work manually. NM grading system is knowledge based; NOT attendance based
