Im a school nurse and Im trying to properly chart medication administration in PS SIS. Im struggling with adding a medication due to the system labeling a medication's inventory and dose as the same thing. This results in me not being able to chart the meds as given because it gives me an error message stating it is over or under my current inventory of that medication.
For example, lets say I receive 100 tablets of Ibuprofen and each tablet is 200 mg. The doctor has the student dosing anywhere from 200mg - 600 mg depending on the student's reported pain level. How can I possibly inventory this based on the number of doses? If I receive a vial of insulin, it is the same issue. How does this work for "prn" dosing? I really wish PS would not make inventory equal dosing. Any advise would be appreciated.
