How can I add assets and textbooks to my classes?

How can I add assets and textbooks to my classes? This new feature would be cool if I could manage it.

Hi @ngermer

Thank you for posting!

To assist you further, would you please confirm if you are a teacher or an admin in PowerSchool SIS?

I'm a teacher. If only admin can manage textbooks, then this new feature is useless to me. Our communications deal with students not materials listed in a gradebook.

Hi @ngermer

The asset management feature in PowerSchool SIS helps admins add assets, search for existing assets, align to courses, manage inventory, or delete assets. If you are looking to associate your asset to a specific course your admin should be able to guide you with the steps.

We encourage you to add your idea to enable this option for Teachers as an enhancement request on the PowerSchool Ideas Portal, where users can submit their ideas directly to the Product team. It also allows you to review the idea for status updates as well as share the idea with other users to support it by voting.

To learn more about the Ideas Portal, we recommend reviewing the article on PowerSchool Ideas Portal FAQs

Me, too, ngermer...I was so excited to be able to keep track of my students' textbooks, but it won't let you add your own stinkin' textbook. My admin has nothing to do with tracking our inventory, it is our responsibility. The option should be for teachers OR admin to add a textbook. How stupid. So aggravated. Useless for me too.
