Yes, the school-level administrators and attendance clerks print an Admit Slip for students leaving or returning to school. The Admit Slip serves as a "hall pass" that lists the classes the student has missed and includes parent and teacher signature lines. However, it can only be printed for the current date. It works with both meeting and daily attendance and utilizes clock-in/clock-out data if enabled.
To print an admit slip, Select the school and correct years and terms from the start page> Select a student from start page> Attendance> Daily/meeting> Click on any week> Change the attendance code> Check the print admit slip> Submit.
You should be able to use the admit slip as a classroom pass as well. For instance, if a student is late to school, you can generate an admit slip for the student to authorize him/her to proceed to class.
Since it displays the student's name, grade, homeroom, date, clock in/clock-out times, and a signature line for the parent/teacher, you can print and provide it to the student as a pass.
Our school is looking for passes for teachers, not for students late to school. For example, a student asks the teacher to leave the classroom for the restroom and the teacher can use PS for an electronic pass. Then all teachers/admin can see who has permission to be out of class at any given time for various reasons.
Hey, @jlehde Thanks for that information.
The feature to create such electronic passes for teachers is currently not built in PowerTeacher Pro/ PowerSchool.
However, you can share this idea as an Enhancement Request on PowerSchool Ideas Portal so that the product team can take a look at this. This article should walk you through how to raise an Enhancement Request.
