Gradebook

When we install the installer and try to launch the gradebook we get an error.  We are using Windows 10 > Chrome browser.

Java Virtual Machine Launcher

Error: Unable to access jarfile

C:\Users\(Teacher)\AppData\Local\Pearson\PTg\pswebstart.jar

It seems to have just started with the new upgrade.  We could do this before but now we are getting the error.

Thank you

Monica Clark

@mclark1   Which version of PS SIS are you using? PowerGrade has been phased out.

@mclark1 ..Sorry...The PowerGrade will be phased out in Spring 2022.

Have you tried clearing browser history? Tried a different web browser?

@mclark1, Thank you for your response. This seems to be happening when you do a fresh install. This does not happen if you have the old version of Gradebook on the desktop.

Our development is working towards fixing this, we recommend you follow the workaround until then:

- Use “Older Launch” (JNLP) method
- Add downloads extracted from last known good PS install (21.4.2) under https://support.powerschool.com/f/powerschool_standalone_installers
- Move to PTP as PTG is being EOL'd BTS 2022 (22.4.0.0)

The 4th option is to copy the missing file from a computer that has a working install.

I hope you have a great day and recommend working with the Designated Support Contacts in your school district who should be able to contact the PowerSchool SIS Support team to get updates on the fix of the issue.

Hey, has this issue been resolved yet? I have the same problem as OP and I can't find any other solution. I don't have the missing file on another working install... how can I get that?
