Hello,
Is there a way to batch remove or purge all of the transporation informaton in powerschool sis so it can be imported from a transporation software system?
Thanks!
Hi! @kstlouis,
The PowerSchool admin should be able to delete all records from the Transportation table using the Data Export Manager.
Just out of curiosity, are you asking about another program importing transportation data in Powerschool?
I am curious about this also, because it seems that any import into our system for transortation either adds to what is already in there, not replace/update it.
I could be wrong, but........ I wonder if you/anyone could enlighten me on this...

Yes. That is what happened but we only want current data to show and for it to not add to it.
@kstlouis did you ever get a resolution for deleting the Transportation Information for a student before reloading the current assignments? I have a PowerSchool user wanting to do this as well but I not am to see how this is done through the Import Data Manager as well.
I did not.... @KJardel hit the nail on the head with my question but I never had a resolution. We want to be able to import the transportation information and have it update the student record to display the most current info.
I agree. Is there a resolution on this process? Has anyone found what the best practice is for keeping the transportation information up to date?
Hey @wendy_r,
Thank you for the question.
We recommend reaching out to the PowerSchool SIS Support team to review the possible ways to keep the transportation information up to date.
Hi @kstlouis, @KJardel, @seanlong,
While everyone's school or district's setup is different, we do not recommend deleting records on PowerSchool SIS as it may result in unforeseen circumstances including orphan data.
Is it possible to replace what is there with updated data through an import?
@BishalG I am curious as well with @kstlouis question. What is the preferred method to update the Transportation table for a student through the use of a TAB file using the Data Import Manager?
What data fields are used to help identify what routing record needs to be updated, besides the internal DCid the record is given on creation?
Would these possibly be the RouteCode combined with the StudentNumber?
Thank you for the question!
It is possible to replace the current data with updated through an import. However, that is going to be dependent on the setup of your tables. If it is a stand-alone table, probably not or it can be complex. If it is an extension on the student's table, then you should be able to import the data.
To discuss further on figuring out a way to update the Transportation table for a student through the use of a TAB file using the Data Import Manage and providing further information, we would need to look into your table set up. We recommend connecting with the PowerSchool SIS Support team for the best suggestions.
