I teach 6 sections of 1 subject, so I use the duplicate assignment feature often. This year, teaching both on-line and in-person classes, not all subject saw the same assignments.
I wanted to delete an accidental duplication for one class (that was duplicated to 3 others). I made sure to select the ONLY (one) class that I needed to delete. No grades were entered for that section, still received a popup saying this will delete and remove scored sections....remember, i selected ONLY the 1 class this was to be deleted.
And would you believe it? It deleted the other 3 sections AND all of the grades to go with it...
Whats the point of offering to select the classes/sections to delete if its only going to delete everything anyway? More importantly, why is it still deleting all the other assignments when I specifically selecting ONE section from the dropdown?
It sounds like the assignment you deleted was from the class where the assignment was originally created. Was that the case?
To be honest, I'm not sure which class the assignment was originally duplicated from. Is there a way to check that? Perhaps on another duplicated assignment I have in the gradebook?
Unfortunately I can't fully duplicate your situation since we are using Unified Classroom and PTP is hidden in that environment. However, instead of deleting the assignment by using the delete button, in edit mode, uncheck the classes you no longer want it to show up.
