Default Number of Columns

Is there a way the default number of columns in the scoresheet can be adjusted so that I don't have to keep changing it when I log in?  Whoever thinks I only grade 8 things a year should probably not be working in the education industry.

Hello f352370 -

Thank you for your post in the PowerSchool Community.

PowerTeacher Pro sets the default columns based on the width of the browser window that it is launched on. Users could increase the width of the browser window by either stretching it or maximizing it, or by using the browser's zoom feature and refreshing PowerTeacher Pro.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

We appreciate your participation in the PowerSchool Community.

These are all suggestions that would affect evey other aspect of programs I'm running on my computer. All I think we are asking for is to sacrifice how wide the columns are and get more on one page. I don't want to zoom in on my browser or stretch it becuase that affects everything else I've got open. Just give us the ability to have more columns through the program.

I understand the mechanics of the situation.  Two gradebooks ago it was set up like an Excel sheet where the names were a frozen column and I could scroll left and right to quickly and efficiently get to assignment columns.

Please return this functionality to this "improved" gradebook.  I shouldn't have to beg for the RETURN of features that existed 2 years ago and were dumped in the name of "progress."

Hi @f352370,

Thank you for posting your request in the PowerSchool Community!

In the most recent versions of PowerTeacher Pro with PowerSchool SIS 19.4.x, if you stick to the default number of columns for the scoresheet, or less based upon your browser's size, you should see a blue bar with an arrow at the top on the right side. This bar allows you to change pages on the scoresheet view in PowerTeacher Pro, which emulates the "spreadsheet" style behavior that the scroll bar had in PowerTeacher Gradebook. Using the blue bars to change pages, or changing pages using the numbers at the bottom of the screen, will allow you to see the students in the first column, and keep the students' names aligned with their scores for a given page.

If you don't see this behavior in your current version of PowerSchool SIS, I would recommend upgrading to the latest version of PowerSchool SIS 19.4.3 so that you can leverage this feature that fulfils your request.

Yes, please let us change the default number of columns so we don't have to change it every single time we go to a new class just to see all of the assignments. And also, like the user above said, when we scroll to the right in the assignments, keep the names from disappearing on the left like the old version did!

Hi @llunkenheimer,

PowerTeacher Pro bases the default number of columns on the width of the window you open PowerTeacher Pro in. If you have a wider screen (for example mine is a 21:9 ultrawide at 3440x1440), it will default to more columns than 8.

If you want to manually configure the default columns and have that setting saved, then this is a great idea for an enhancement request. Please raise an enhancement request for this feature through the PowerSchool Ideas Portal

After submitting your idea on the portal you can track its status and other people can vote for it while you can ask others to vote for your idea. You can also view the existing ideas on the Idea Portal and vote on them.

This issue was submitted as an enhancement request over a year ago and has 35 votes which is a fair bit as far as the ideas portal goes but there is no status indicating if it is being considered or not. This makes the ideas portal seem pointless. You can submit a request and it gets interest from users but after a year it seems have gotten zero attention from PowerSchool.
