I have a admin/employee that when tries to create an absence Reason dropdown will not populate and therefore the employee cannot continue.
Is there a fix?

Please ensure that the "Use Reason Menus" is checked/enabled under the Parameters > General on your site. You can also check under System Configuration > Reason Menu to make sure that you have reason menus configured in the site for your needed locations/classifications.
