Hello reader,
I have been particularly annoyed by the Demographics tab in Power school.
I am very uncomfortable knowing people can view my gender at any time
by viewing my account. I am a biological male and identify as a male, however
I express myself in my own unique flavor (femininely) which finds me isolated and standing out.
As a result I don't like people knowing my gender since people have predefined expectations that
hurt me quite badly.
For example, I needed clothes a year ago, and my family is poor. I reached out to the social worker,
who could help me get clothes from the program the school district had to get these clothes.
I specifically asked for 'women's (which I hate to even say) Because it aligns more with my style and is what makes me most comfortable. However because my gender was available and a lawsuit I don't have enough space to write, I was given clothes that were not 'womens' and this hurt me a lot because of my previously mentioned PTSD.
I'm already really sensitive to this topic because of my PTSD from my childhood and I am reminded
every school day of this fact when I have to use Powerschool. I am not an overly depressed person,
but this definitely does not help my mental health.
Basically I don't care how I have to do it or what I have to do, I'm willing to do it to get my gender removed whether its transgender legislation or anything else.
