Can you hide a field on a custom page?

We are in the process of consolidating and making Contacts our primary location for all contacts. We currently have a custom page where all contact information has been being entered, and populated by the enrollment portal. Is it possible to hide a specific field on our custom page? Data from the field is populating a field on Demographics, and If we enter data in the field on Demographics it updates the field on the custom page. We want users to use the Demo page, and Contacts but you know how it is. Not everyone will listen...

We were having a similar issue, so I created a custom field called Clean_Contacts...It's a check box on the demographics page. When the box is NOT checked you see the entire demographics page, when it IS checked, I used a custom page fragment to insert the contacts table from the contacts page...This way users can't even see the rest of the demographics page and wreak havoc on our clean contacts.
