I think it's a big problem that teacher recommendations are removed if they were added to a students account at the end of their junior year if a student doesn't apply to a college by July 25th (then they're saved in their previous year?)
The way the system is set up, causes chaos for counselors in the Fall. On top of everything else that needs to be accomplished at the start of the year we have to help students chase down letters of recommendation so that they can apply on time. Even more difficult for the majority of our students who apply EA and/or ED.
What makes it even more ridiculous is that a teacher is being asked to write a recommendation for a student they do not currently have. They are either going to be a former student (and students change from one year to the next) or a student they just got, who they don't really know yet.
A teacher should be able to write and submit a letter at the end of 11th grade so that it's a current letter, AND submitted ahead of time so that the student and counseling staff can focus on the myriad of other requirements necessary for applications.
Hi,
I noticed that you've already submitted a case, and it appears that your feedback has been received. Currently, we don't have any updates regarding this year's eDocs rollover. Any updates will be posted on your Naviance homepage.
