Student Contact Information

I am trying to find information about exporting student contact information. I am referring to the contact table, not the demographics table. Is there anything in terms of a data dictionary that could be used?

I have tried exporting through the Data Export Manager, but the fields I need seem to be nested in several different tables and I can't seem to find the ID fields to link them. 

All I am trying to get is a list of Contacts, the student they are associated with, the custody flag, and their email address.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

It is a bit unwieldy and working this out has been difficult for us as well, but there is a Custom Reports Bundle on PowerDataSolutions that has a bunch of different Contacts related reports.  I use them almost exclusively now when I need to find something quick.

It turns out that I found the solution to my problem using Data Export Manager. I had been selecting "Contact Information" or "Tables"  from the Category dropdown. I finally selected "Show All" and then selected "Contacts" in the Export From drop down. This populated the list of fields with the relations between tables.

I too found this Contacts export but I can't get the export to give me just the contacts for the active students in a certain school. I get the contact who receives mailings i.e. Mom and all the kids whether they are in the school I want or not or even if they are inactive students. There is no 'active' flag, nor grade level, nor school ID available in this export.

I tried a student export but need the contact email addresses which I can't find through a student export. Any way I can get the contact information (names and email addresses) just for the contacts who receive mailings for the active students in a certain school?

You can also use PSCB Custom Reports as suggested in this thread which discusses a similar issue.

There is also a Contact DAT Builder plugin available in PowerSource.  It can be used with Quick Export.  Very handy!

 I am going to piggy back onto this thread...

I want to do a form letter that has the CONTACT access log on name and password so that I can send it out to parents.

Any ideas?
